We all buy books either from nearby book shops or mostly online from Amazon or Flipkart. But book lovers know that this is not an economical practice because some books are little bit costly. But what if we can buy second hand books from book markets. Yes you heard this right, book markets from where you can buy not only new books at a cheaper price but also second hand books. Take a look at the book markets in India:

1) Daryaganj Book Market, Delhi

The most famous place for buying cheap books in Delhi. The market opens on Sundays only. You can find not only books here but also diaries and notebooks and other stationery. The market is well connected with transport like Metro and Buses. The book shops are maintained by local vendors which is why you can easily buy books after bargaining. But in past few days, the market has been relocated to Mahila Haat, Delhi where you will find it in a much organized way.

2) College Street Book Market

One of the oldest book markets in India is College Street Book Market. A 900 meter long market situated in the heart of Central Kolkata will satisfy every book lover with its books collection. If you love to read Bengali books, then this market is a heaven for you. The market is well connected with public transport. The shops in this market are very old and books are available at a very cheaper price. If you ever visit Kolkata, don't forget to visit this market.

3) Sunday Book Bazaar of Abids

If you are visiting Hyderabad, then you should not miss the Abid's book market. A booklover's paradise, you can find a wide range of books from comics to thesis books. The books are laid on the pavement and you can freely choose from a wide number of options. Some books are so cheap that you can buy them at Rs.10 also.

4) Aminabad Book Market, Lucknow

Lucknow's Aminabad Book Market is famous for its attractive deals in books. This is a lot more organized market in the form of shops where you can find wholesale book sellers. Here a wide range of books are available starting from college curriculum to notebooks and registers. The market is well connected with public transport and is closed on Thursdays.

5) Nai Sarak Book Market, Delhi

Located near Chawri Bazar, this market is specially designed to suit the needs of students pursuing higher studies. This market is mainly famous for Engineering and Medical books. Also you can find a wide range of stationery for children. The market is well connected with public transport and is closed on sunday's. All the shopkeepers are mainly wholesalers and you will get the books at best prices which are normally high priced in the retail market.


My suggestion to all the visitors will be that while visiting these book markets, always wear comfy shoes and carry change like Rs.10 & Rs.50. VI would suggest you to visit these markets right in the morning as by afternoon a lot of good books will be sold.
