The very first Sci-Fi that I have read
Indeed, the very first book which I came to know was From The Earth To The Moon by Jules Verne . And, yes from that point sci-fi books became one of my favorite genre. The evolution of sci-fi books has taken a great turn after that, of course. Jules Verne wrote the book in 1865. The story focused on a journey of a group of people who wanted to reach moon by assembling a rocket. But, Jules Verne has some other books to his credit like Around The World in 80 Days, Journey to the Center of the World and others.

Which is the first sci-fi book ?
If we are talking about evolution of sci-fi books, then a simple question arises. Which is the first sci-fi book?
The Chymical Wedding of Christian Rosenkreutz by Johann Valentinus Andreae is most probably the first sci-fi novel. The novel is dated back to 1616, and I really don’t know that how many of you have heard about this.
But, I was really fascinated that the sci-fi genre dates back to 1616. The evolution of sci-fi books must have considerably started with this novel.
The novel is basically set in the Rosicrucian era and is full of adventure and alchemy.

Frankenstein Era of sci-fi genre
Yeah, this era became most exciting when Frankenstein by Mary Shelley got released in 1818.
And, I think the book has not lost its charm even after so many years. Frankenstein is an epic which can be counted as a significant contribution in the evolution of sci-fi books.
Frankenstein is about a man who was recreated by a scientist after the man died. But, instead a monster was created.
Century of Jules Verne
Among my first favorite is Around the World in 80 Days by Jules Verne .
Although, the story was originally published in French. The story revolves around a scientist who takes up a science club challenge to circumnavigate the world in 80 days in his hot air balloon.
It was , in fact, a critically acclaimed novel and a significant contribution in the evolution of sci-fi novels.
But his works include many other critically acclaimed novels like From the Earth to the Moon, Journey to the center of the Earth ( which is now a major motion picture).
Age of Edgar Rice Burroughs
Now what can I say about Edgar Rice Burroughs. Time travel, aliens, people from other planets, yes, these are some of the characteristics of his books. It was a different age of evolution of sci-fi books with Tarzan and Princess of Mars ( a major motion picture now).
An era with Stephen King
How can I forget to mention Stephen King when it comes to science fiction. Stephen King is, primarily categorized with fantasy and horror fiction. But don’t forget his Dark Tower Series , which is a masterpiece in science fiction.
Dark Tower Series is set in a post apocalyptic era where a tower controls space and time. Although, I would not give a detailed review of the book here, and leave it to the readers to read the series.
The series is ,definitely, a remarkable offering in the evolution of sci-fi books in its era.
Present era of Sci-fi books
Now, comes the best part of the whole discussion. Yes, and that is the present era of science fiction books. This age defines science fiction in terms of aliens, other planets, computers, viruses.
According to me, authors have surely, come a far way from just narrating stories about aliens to new discoveries in science.
In fact, I was just reading a book named Watchers by Craig Priestley , where people are controlled by watchers. But, I would not reveal the plot as a review is coming out after this post.
In my opinion, young writers are, certainly, offering the best pieces in the evolution of sci-fi books.
