Why I Picked The Book?

Reading books is my hobby and passion both. I am a thriller and horror genre lover. So, I started reading on Wattpad also. This was recommended by Wattpad as a horror genre story. I liked the first part of the story so decided to read the second instalment also.

Author Introduction

The Vision( The Mystery of the Grumpy Man) is written by Biswajit Pattnaik, which is a second story in The Vision series. Biswajit Patnaik started his writing career in 2019 and his first book " The Hidden Truth" is a collection of four short crime thrillers. He writes mainly in crime and supernatural genre. The trilogy series "The Vision" is an award winning series on Wattpad.

Blurb

Abhay and Vipul are again on a roller coaster ride into the spiritual world. Abhay and Vipul decide to visit Mussorie for spending some leisure time. While exploring Mussorie they come across a house and Abhay again see a vision. But he could not figure out the place in the vision. After thinking for a while, he figured out that may be his vision is related to the house they saw in the morning.

Abhay and Vipul decided to investigate further. They started spying on the house. A mother and daughter used to live in the house.

One day, they entered the house stealthily and encounter a spirit. Abhay decided to help the mother daughter duo. He informs Inspector Shekhar who was a friend of Inspector Madhav also. They together decide to investigate the case further. As they delve deeper and deeper, some spine chilling discoveries are made which totally changed the course of the story.

Why discovery was made by Abhay? Who was the mother and daughter and why the spirit is haunting them?

Characters Portrayal

The protagonist, Abhay is a very strong character who despite of having so many frightful visions is all set to unravel the truth. The tertiary characters, Vipul and Inspector Shekhar are also helpful to the protagonist in every manner. The antagonist in this story are also marvellous. The encounters of Abhay with the ghosts will definitely give you chills. The vocabulary used by the writer is very simple and understandable.

My Opinion

I have always been a fan of mystery and horror stories. So, this story definitely fascinated me. The visions are really frightening and the mystery is also good. I liked the second instalment more as the mystery is very intriguing. This is indeed an award winning horror story. I would surely recommend the story for all the horror lovers.

Narrative Style

The writer has indeed done a great job. He has compiled a chilling horror story using simple vocabulary. The arrangement of the incidents are also in a very sequential manner.
