Brad and Jeniffer, in time, find themselves embroiled with the town’s creepy history. He decides to leave the town but finally his past gets him.

What was the history of Three Summers? What happened to Brad and Jeniffer? Will they be able to escape?

My Opinion

The House of Dust by Noah Broyles is a horror thriller book. The plot is good enough about a town worshiping a dark angel and the characters with a disturbed past themselves. But, the story has multiple POV’s and the incidents jump too frequently between present and past.

At a point, I got literally confused with the incidents as I was not able to understand the time line. Also, the story is not creepy enough. I was waiting throughout the whole story for something exciting, but nothing came up.

The best part of the book is that the author at the end has narrated the whole incidents in order of their time line, which finally helped me in understanding the story.

Character Portrayal

All the characters in the book, The House of dust by Noah Broyles, are near about given same definition. They all have a disturbed past. The author has missed on one point that he didn’t clearly defined the past of our protagonists, Brad and Jeniffer. Everything is defined at the end of the story. Due to this, I was not able to attach myself with any of the characters. Also, none of the characters were creepy enough to scare me.

Narrative Style

In terms of narrative style, Noah Broyles has done a commendable work in his debut book, The House of Dust. The author has described each scene and situation with minute detailing. The only disadvantage the narration have is change of scenes abruptly. At a time you are reading one time line and next page you are on other.
