Blurb

Mark and Cinthia Harryngton are found dead in their vacation home. Jill Jenson, police detective starts investigating the case. During investigation, she discovers that the bedroom was locked from inside and it was impossible to enter the room from any other way. When Jill questions other family members, they reveal that someone was watching their house from outside.

But, this was not the end, Jill and her subordinate Caiden starts experiencing the same events like with Harryngton's. Her past comes back to haunt her again as she delves deeper into the case.

Who killed the Harryngton couple when their bedroom was locked from inside? What was haunting Jill from her past? Will Jill Jenson be able to solve the case?

My Opinion

Ever Told by Benjamin Bremasi is a crime mystery thriller. The plot is exciting and creates a thrilling environment. But, the climax was flat. Some of the events were unnecessarily included which disrupted the flow of story. Especially, Allen's character was totally not needed.

Also, a child is being abused and he talks about the situation with his uncle. And, together they decide to commit a murder. I was really not able to digest this fact. And, there were many unanswered questions left by the author. I would like to give the book 3 stars.

Character Portrayal

The characters of Ever Told by Benjamin Bremasi fail to impress its readers. I was not able to clearly ascertain the true nature of characters. I had high hopes for the antagonists, but that too fell flat. Also, I felt that the characters were not acting according to their age. An old man running like a teenager and a child with a malicious motive were not up to the mark. The antagonist should have been portrayed with a more manipulative quality.

Narrative Style

I like the narrative style of Ever Told by Benjamin Bremasi. The author has narrated the story with reference to events before and after the murders. The language is simple and the plot is also easy to understand.
