Author Introduction

Phillip Strang is an Australian crime, thriller, and fiction author that was born in England during the post-war baby boom. Forty years later, he still lives in Australia from where he writes his bestselling novels. He published his debut novel “Murder is a Tricky Business” in 2016 and has never looked back since. He has written many thriller series like DCI Isaac Cook Series, DI Keith Tremayne Series and Steve Case Series.

Blurb

DI Keith Tremayne and Sergeant Claire Yarwood arrives at a house for investigating a death. But, when they inspect the body, it turned out to be a strange case of Human Combustion. When they try to dig more deeper into the background about the deceased, it seemed a twisted case of Cult and Pagan Gods.

Tremayne and Yarwood unturns every stone to get the case solved. But they are threatened to leave the case or die. Still, they are determined to solve the case. Little did they knew that their personal and love life will get entwined in this and have to walk over dead bodies.

Will Tremayne and Yarwood be able to solve the case? How many more lives will be lost?

My Opinion
One of the best Cult Thrillers
Death Unholy by Phillip Strang is one of the best thrillers I have read this year. The story is so gripping and fast that it would not let you down for a second. The plot is full of thrills and chills like a we can expect from a horror book. As, the story is set in England, it gives you a feeling of re- living English pubs and culture. The cult has been defined well with reference to Pagan Gods. The cover is also quite good. And, the climax will blow your mind. To summarize, the book has everything to enjoy on a Saturday evening with a cup of coffee. I will surely give 5 stars to the book.

Character Portrayal

DI Keith Tremayne and Clare Yarwood are the Protagonists who played perfect police officers in the book, Death Unholy by Phillip Strang. They have been given a normal character which easily blends with the story.

The Antagonists are evil and kill anyone that comes their way. The tertiary characters have supported well. I liked the chemistry between Tremayne and Yarwood. But, my favorite character will be Yarwood who plays a dutiful, diligent and informed police officer.

Narrative Style

The language of the book is simple and easy to understand. Not many flashbacks are in the story.
