I bought, The Ghost of Gosain Bagan by Sirshendu Mukhopadhyay from World Book Fair, 2023. The author is a classic author and I have already read some books by him.

Author Introduction

Sirshendu Mukhopadhyay is one of the most accomplished writers of modern Bengali literature. A critically acclaimed writer of adult fiction, Sirshendu Mukhopadhyay gained popularity for his fiction and science fiction books for children and young adults. He is best known and most loved ghost-story writer in Bengali. His popular children fictions include Adbhuture, Manojder Adbhut Bari, Patalghar, Pidimer Alo, Sada Beral Kalo Beral, Nrisingha Rahasya, Chhayamoy, Goynar Baksho and Gosain Baganer Bhoot among many others. He received Vidyasagar Award in 1985 for his contribution to children’s literature. He also received Ananda Puroshkar twice in 1973 and 1990. In 2012, he received the Bangla Bibhushan Award.

My Opinion

Really Enjoyable....................

The Ghost of Gosain Bagan by Sirshendu Mukhopadhyay is available in both English and Bengali language. The book is originally written in Bengali. I have read the book in both the languages. Burun, our main character resembles so much from our childhood when we used to think only about playing. He is a kid who just wants to get away from boring studies. The book is perfect for our young readers. The climax was also very satisfying. It also has a moral at the end. Definitely 5 stars for the book.
