Somesh Pandey, a scholar of Archaeology at Chicago University, would have happily started his career hadn’t he come across a mysterious and punctual foot pain. The medical tests failed to detect the complication, and he was advised to work on stress management to cure the imaginary pain. Immediately, he was called back to his village for some spiritual solution and forced to stay there for two years.

My Opinion

Unwanted 24 by Deepak Joshi is a soul stirring novel where a NRI is trying to find his roots in his ancestral village. The book is medium paced which effectively coincides with the plot. The book explores Indian cultural themes and creates an ambience around the readers. Also, there are humor parts in the story with Diggi Bhai's character. The characters are well crafted, each bringing a unique perspective to the story. The author paints a vivid structure of village life and its difficulties. My favorite part of the story is the humor part which sparks interest in the story. If you are a beginner and looking for a book with a little bit of everything, then definitely the book is for you.
