What would you do if you come to know that a murderer is on the loose in your vicinity ❓❓❓
I would be extra cautious, staying alert at all times. Keeping my eyes and ears open would be my priority.

One murder to solve and another to cover up. It'll be tricky, but the OAP residents of Sunset Hall are going to give it their best shot. Sunset Hall is a house-share for the old and unruly, led by Agnes Sharp. It's an eventful day when this group of idiosyncratic geriatrics gets a visit from the police to inform them of some shocking news: a body has been discovered next door. Everyone puts on a long face, but they are secretly relieved that the body in question is not the one they're currently hiding in the shed (sorry about that, Lillith). Now the answer to their little problem with Lillith may have fallen into their laps. All they have to do is find out who murdered their neighbour, so they can pin Lillith's death on them, thus killing two old birds with one stone. To investigate, the group (not forgetting Hettie the tortoise) will venture into the not-so-idyllic village of Duck End and tangle with sinister bakers, broken stair lifts, inept criminals and their own dark secrets.
Leonie Swann's debut novel, Three Bags Full, was an instant hit, topping the bestseller charts in her native Germany for months. It has since been translated into 26 languages. She lives in Cambridgeshire.
My Opinion
The Sunset Years of Agnes Sharp by Leonie Swann is a mystery set in a small town with a bunch of old people as detectives. The plot advances with a positive note as some old people are murdered in the same area. The characters are kind of cute and very different, as all of them are old, and most of them are suffering from amnesia or any other ailment. The author with these characters took a very bold step as the people who could not even take care of themselves are on a crime-solving mission. I was very much doubtful whether the book would have a satisfying climax or not. But, believe me, the author took their time to nourish the plot with each character's past and present.
Agnes Sharp, our main protagonist, leads us to all the small details with perfection. Nothing seemed out of place in the whole plot. The only thing was the reason for the murders that got me confused. I mean, when you reach an age when you know you are going to die any minute, holding a grudge is a bit unrealistic. I was searching for a more sinister motive that was mentioned for only a fraction in the story. Still, the book is worth a one-time read. The book deserves 4 stars.
