I definitely prefer sci-fi that leans toward real science, much like Andy Weir’s style. Stories grounded in actual physics, biology, and engineering feel more immersive to me because they make the impossible seem genuinely achievable. I enjoy when authors use scientific logic to solve problems, create tension, and build entire worlds that feel believable. It’s exciting to learn something new while reading, and it adds a layer of authenticity that imaginative world-building alone can’t provide. Real science makes the adventure sharper, the stakes higher, and the characters’ ingenuity far more satisfying.

My Opinion
Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir is a brilliant science fiction novel centered on the urgent mission to save Earth from an existential threat. The scientific details are so rich and intricate that at times I found them challenging to grasp, yet they added immense depth to the story. What truly stood out for me, however, were the characters. The bond between Ryland Grace and Rocky was the heart of the book—an unexpected and touching friendship formed in the harshness of space. Their teamwork, trust, and communication felt inspiring, showing that even beings from different worlds can connect deeply. I especially loved how the author portrayed Rocky with such warmth and intelligence, reinforcing the idea that aliens don’t have to be hostile; they can be allies and friends. The precise, minute explanations about space science made the story feel authentic and elevated the entire reading experience for me.
