My Opinion
Summer Slasher by E.L. Chen is a *revenge slasher* that kept me hooked for most of the ride. 🔪☀️ Just when I thought I had everything figured out, the author would throw in another twist that made me question my theories.
The book does a good job of creating an *atmosphere of terror, and the slasher elements definitely deliver some disturbing and gory moments. 🩸 Some of the details were a little too graphic for me, but if you're a fan of **gory horror and brutal slasher fiction*, you'll probably enjoy that aspect.
What worked particularly well for me was the unpredictability. Every time I thought I had the story sorted out, something else came along to shake things up.
However, I felt the story became *a little confusing as it approached the climax*. Some of the developments didn't come together as smoothly as I would have liked, which took away from the impact of the ending.
Overall, Summer Slasher is a *fast-paced, atmospheric horror read* with revenge, gore, suspense, and enough twists to keep you turning the pages. It wasn't a perfect read for me, but it definitely had moments that kept me entertained. 🔪📖
