Author Introduction
Animesh Goverdhan is presently working as an Assistant Conservator of Forest in the Government of Chhattisgarh. He has done his graduation in Environmental Engineering from Delhi University. Being his hobby as well as his profession, he has widely toured different forest landscapes all over the country, many of them being virgin forest areas. He has been instrumental in developing a unique city forest ‘Oxyzone’ in the heart of the capital city of Chhattisgarh, Raipur which is the only example where a large number of buildings were demolished to plant new trees. He has penned two more books, Oxyzone – The Magical Forest of Raipur (ISBN 9788194345220) and Turning Mine Dumps into Green Mountains.

My Opinion
Jungle Mysteries by Animesh Govardhan is a tale of jungles and animals. We humans have long exploited our nature. In this book, the author tells us stories of his encounters in various jungles of India. While reading I could feel the greenery of trees, roar of tigers and chattering of birds. It creates an atmosphere around us. We humans think that the whole world is ours, but this is not the truth. Animals, too have an equal right to live. I was appalled by the author's encounters with all these beautiful animals.
For me, the book has a special meaning as I am an animal lover. Also, there are lots of action and emotions involved in the storyline. The book has been set in various jungles which I have never heard before. Reading the book was an amazing ride, just like a Jungle Safari. The book is a perfect one for nature lovers who want to know how our system works. Also, the author has given instances at some places of our faulty government system. The book comes with a strong message about how humans should be compassionate towards the animals.
