Author Introduction

After living in various parts of the UK, including Wakefield, York, Derby, and the Yorkshire Dales, Peache now lives on a Narrowboat cruising the canal network. She enjoys reading, writing, travelling, walking, kayaking, watching all forms of motorbike racing and socialising (networking).

At the beginning of her writing journey, she started her blog which tracks the ups and downs of writing.

She is part of a wonderful writing group based in Newark; The Fosseway Writers and have stories in various anthologies including; The Brinwade Chronicles, which is a collection of 28 Gothic stories by 13 writers. Harriett loves the solitude and healing power of the beach. As she settles into a new life, she cautiously tries to forge new friendships. When the handsome stranger on the beach strikes an unusual friendship with her, Harriett is almost convinced she has left her traumatic past behind. But, the discovery of a body on the beach sends her life into turmoil. Harriett is now questioning everything and everyone around her—even herself.

My Opinion

Power of Nature by C L Peache brings to you a riveting tale of Harriett who is still haunted by her past. The storyline is quite different and unusual from what I have normally read. The first part of the plot is quite absorbing and interesting. But, after that the plot is too slow and you need to be patient to reach the climax. The climax was although very different and was fast paced. After reading the climax only you will feel that it was worth being patient all the way through. If you really want to enjoy the book then please hold your horses and enjoy.

If I talk about characters, then, Harriett is the spotlight. The whole story revolves around her. She is a victim and suffering. Her emotional well being is also in question. I liked her character as the author has spent hell lot of a time defining her. Doctor Maytree's character is going to shock you and going to change the whole course of the plot. The tertiary characters are well defined and placed. The author's easy writing style makes the book easier to read for beginners. The plot creates an atmosphere of mystery with a thrill. It is worth a one time read. Definitely, the book deserves 4 stars and full recommendation.
