All these things are true. And yet some of them are lies. An unspeakable secret binds the family together, and when a new neighbour moves in next door, the truth may destroy them all. Because there's something buried in the dark forest at the end of Needless Street. But it's not what you think...

My Opinion
The Last House on Needless Street by Catriona Ward is a mix of thriller and horror but with a different twist. The plot is indeed a different one from others, and you definitely would not be able to guess it until the author reveals itself. But some of the parts felt too much stretched out. Even the climax was totally unsatisfying for me. It needed to be something final. The characters were good, although they played their part well. The most cute is Olivia, the cat that had some funny parts too. Ted's character was the most wonderful one. I had very high hopes for the book and was a little bit disappointed after reading. Still, if you are a fan of slow burns, then you can pick this one up. The book deserves 3 stars.
